The Apprentice Interview Process Is Brutal
From the full episode: The Apprentice Interview Process Is Brutal
Before the boardroom there is the interview process, and Michelle Niziol, founder and CEO of IMS Property Group, nearly pulled out of The Apprentice during it. In this clip from The BEYOND Podcast she tells host Aleksandra King about the psychologist meeting that almost ended the run before it began.
What kept her in was the same resolve the episode keeps returning to: she was not going to spend years saying she could have got on the show. She got on, and the rest of the conversation covers what the firing taught her.

Aleksandra King: So how did you find the interview process? You said difficult.
Michelle Niziol: I wish everyone could experience it, because it was the hardest thing that I've ever had to do. You know, I remember having the, uh, psy- meeting with the psychologist and- I nearly didn't do the show.
Michelle Niziol: I nearly pulled out. And the psychologist really put me through my paces because she said, "Do you, um, Michelle, put your baby to bed e- every night?" And I said, "Absolutely, I do." And she said, "He's not even gonna know who you are i- in the 12-week process." And that-
Aleksandra King: Yeah ...
Michelle Niziol: I was just like, "I can't." I went home and spoke to my husband and I said, "I can't do this.
Michelle Niziol: Like, I can't do it." And he said, "You are doing it because-
Aleksandra King: Mm ...
Michelle Niziol: literally, like, you ... I'm not gonna put up with you- going, "I could have got on the show. I could have got on the show." But yeah, I nearly didn't do it because of that.
